MONDAY OCTOBER 20

WATCH IT LIVE! WE ARE STREAMING THESE SHOWS LIVE! CHECK IT OUT!

SINGER SONGWRITER NIGHT WEEK 6

For eight straight Monday nights (7pm-10pm,) singer/songwriters will have the opportunity to perform in our theatre. On the 10th week, winners will be announced to perform in front of three highly respected Birmingham judges.

Anyone (16+) can sign up to perform! You can use an acoustic guitar, bass guitar, electric guitar, piano, cahoon drum, or tracks for just singers. (For other additional instruments contact Ellis.).

Sign up early by contacting Ellis Hopkins or sign-up when you get arrive. To begin the night, performers names are drawn for the order of performance each night. Three or four songs can then be performed.

During the performances, the audience will vote 1-10 on a ballot sheet for the artist/performer. Ballots are placed in a sealed box to be opened at the end of eight weeks. The audience participation and voting on the sheets is a big part of our singer-songwriter performances. This is your chance to be Simon Cowell or Paula Abdul. There's a lot of great talent in Alabama and we're going to find it!

We will take the 9th week off to count up the scores, and on the 10th week, 10 winners will be announced. The more nights you perform, the higher your score can be.

NEED TO TRANSITION FROM WORK TO PLAY??

WorkPlay is introducing Ashtanga YOGA! Starting Tuesday October 28 @ 6pm!

Clay Dunbar is is certified by The Yoga Alliance and received his 200 hour certification through Birmingham Yoga. At Birmingham Yoga he was trained by Akasha Ellis who was a student of Pattabhi Jois's Ashtanga lineage, as well as a daily student of Kundalini master Yogi Bhajan in India for many years. Clay has a daily Ashtanga Yoga practice and since his certification has taught many hours of classes. Though his personal daily practice is Ashtanga he will deviate some from traditional Ashtanga to create a Vinyasa style yoga class that will work for the time frame as well as the diverse crowd in attendance. The class will be fun and tailored to western interests, yet the intention will be to maintain the ancient tradition and lineage from which His practice derives. All levels of practitioner are welcomed. Please bring your own mat and towel.

Cost is $5 and your ticket is good for a FREE drink after class! If you are interested in signing up, please click here!
